The Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) held by-elections in 14 wards in six provinces on Wednesday - the first since November.

And, according to the results, the ANC performed the best, holding onto all of its wards and winning two more.

The EFF continued its upward trend and although its candidates didn't win any wards, the party managed to build support in wards where they had little support before.
