When South Africans go to the polls on 1 November, they should endorse or boot their local councillors, based purely on service delivery, writes Adriaan Basson.

The residents of Soweto were justifiably upset with President Cyril Ramaphosa when he tried to persuade them over the weekend to vote for the ANC.

At the Nomzamo informal settlement, one resident reportedly told the president to "f**k off" until power had been restored.
