As the only leader in the national arena brave enough to actually step up to the mantle and go to Ukraine to see for himself what is happening, John Steenhuisen was an easy target for myopic rhetoric, writes Emma Louise Powell.

News24's political editor Qaanitah Hunter's recent opinion article, in which she accuses DA leader John Steenhuisen's fact-finding mission to Ukraine as being indicative of a "rudderless opposition", is symptomatic of the usual parochialism we have come to expect of armchair critics.
