Donald Trump's long-time advisor Steve Bannon is the first to be charged in connection with the Capitol Hill insurrection, but the committee has not ruled out calling Trump himself, writes John Matisonn.

Congressman Greg Pence, who hid from the insurrection on Capitol Hill on 6 January with his brother, then President Trump's vice president Mike Pence, was missing again on Thursday. 

On the day the legislature was attacked, the Pence family rushed away from a pro-Trump mob shouting "Hang Mike Pence" under a security escort. This week, when the House voted to hold the first of the possible perpetrators accountable before a congressional committee, the congressman was missing from the House floor again.
