There is no political will to expedite the shift to new generation to ensure we have electricity because the government and Mineral Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe are still married to coal, writes Mandy Wiener.

When that notification from Eskom drops every day, informing me there will be load shedding, I feel the full gamut of emotions. But overriding all of them is rage and irritation that, as a country, we find ourselves in this position.
