Various studies have revealed that indicators of hunger and food security have got worse and it seems government’s decision to end various Covid-19 and top-up grants has contributed to the problem, writes Mandy Wiener.

Over the last few weeks, with a child now in Grade 1, I’ve joined the ranks of lunchbox-making moms.

It’s still a novelty so I spend a ridiculous amount of time agonising over what will go into the lunchbox every day. Is it a good balance of nutrition and delicious? Will everything be eaten? Will the containers ever return home again?
