Charlotte Maxeke Hospital cannot open following a fire in April, while two other Johannesburg hospitals have been hit by water shortages. Mandy Wiener writes the provincial health system is at breaking point and it cannot go on.

"It's crazy. It's absolutely crazy. It's a disaster. The solution is to stop talking about it and get it done. Get the Department of Infrastructure to get it done. There is nothing happening. Someone needs to take responsibility. Everyone is blaming everyone else and no one is getting anything done. Something needs to get done urgently!"
