It's often those who are most at risk who are the most defiant, writes Mandy Wiener. She says they're the ones plotting how to circumvent the regulations and find loopholes to get fishing permits to hit the beach or to rename a lagoon a river. 

I don't celebrate Christmas. But whatever deity you pray to or don't, most of us know a few things about family gatherings and celebrating together with those closest to us.

We have each faced these dilemmas throughout the year as we have debated and mulled over how to manage gatherings, which events to attend and what potential risks they pose. This week that quandary is more pronounced than it has been all year as many families deliberate how to spend Christmas.
