It was hoped that we wouldn't be hard-hit by the third wave, but that is proving not to be the case as the country battles a slow vaccine rollout. Mandy Wiener writes that government needs to implement a wartime efficiency if we are going to ensure we are not hit by further waves.

Over the past 15 months, we have been at war.

That is how our President Cyril Ramaphosa has repeatedly described our fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. In his public addresses, he has regularly invoked military-esque descriptions.
