Mbhazima Shilowa questions if we are likely to see the same fate for Cyril Ramaphosa's new economic reconstruction and recovery plan as happened to Gear, AsigiSA, IPAP and the NDP.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has asked Parliament's presiding officers to convene a joint sitting of the House to enable him to present his much vaunted economic reconstruction and recovery plan to members of Parliament and the country.

The plan is said to be a culmination of negotiations in Nedlac, discussions at the ANC and Cabinet makgotla and the Presidential economic advisory council.
