2021 is proving to be a difficult year for President Cyril Ramaphosa, writes Mbhazima Shilowa. He will have to chart the way through difficult terrain in his State of the Nation Address, but also answer for what he knew was going on within his own party in light of testimony at the Zondo commission.

One has to feel for President Cyril Ramaphosa. He is as they say in Afrikaans "tussen die boom en die bas" (neither here nor there).

In a few weeks time he will deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA).
