The ANC may be struggling, but opposition parties aren't doing very well either, writes Pieter du Toit. 

President Cyrl Ramaphosa’s strong performance at a meeting of the ANC’s national executive committee last weekend has by and large been met with reserved optimism.

Reserved, because history shows us firm and principled action by the governing party when dealing with internal corruption is the exception rather than the rule.
