Arts Minister Nathi Mthethwa doesn't see anything wrong with government putting up a R22 million flag while kids are dying of starvation. He says the department had the money and it should spend it, writes Qaanitah Hunter.

During the outrage at the government's irregular overspending on former president Jacob Zuma's Nkandla homestead, I had a chat with a government minister.

The said minister was among those who defended the appalling R200 million that was spent on ridiculous "security upgrades", such as a "firepool" and amphitheatre, and insisted that Zuma was entitled to security at his private home.
