Qaanitah Hunter writes that Cyril Ramaphosa's 'family meetings' are tone-deaf and expose the distance between the President and ordinary South Africans.

South Africans were subjected to yet another "family meeting" this past Sunday and, if anything, these events have become more indicative that this family is dysfunctional.

We have become accustomed to these hour-long televised speeches by President Cyril Ramaphosa, where he updates the nation on the state of the Covid-19 pandemic and the government's efforts to curb the spread of the virus.
