The DA can criticise some of the IEC's decisions, but it should leave the Constitutional Court out of that criticism, writes Ralph Mathekga. 

The Constitutional Court has dismissed the DA's petition to set aside the reopening of candidate registration for the upcoming local government elections. This, after the court earlier denied a petition by the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) to postpone the elections.

Had the court agreed with the DA's petition, the ANC would not have been able to register candidates in over 90 municipalities where the party previously was unable to meet deadlines set by the commission.
