South Africans are becoming used to less electricity every day, where the plan seems to be that everyone must just make their own plan to have access to power. Ralph Mathekga writes that this is a dangerous place to be.
On Friday, Eskom announced it was suspending load shedding, giving South Africans a few days of reprieve as the winter weather sets in.
The joy was short-lived though, when, on Monday, the stated-owned enterprise warned load shedding could be implemented again at short notice as the power system was severely constrained.
