President Cyril Ramaphosa previously said he was ready to appear before the Zondo commission. Now is the time, writes Ralph Mathekga, if the commission's integrity is to remain intact.
President Cyril Ramaphosa is not having a good start to the year as the president of the ANC, after former Eskom chief Brian Molefe implicated him last Friday at the state capture commission of inquiry.
Molefe claimed that during Ramaphosa's time as the deputy president of the country, mining company Glencore used him to extract favourable decisions from the government because Ramaphosa also served on the board of the company. Glencore did business with Eskom during that period. At the same time, Ramaphosa was leading the government's efforts to stabilise the ailing power producer.
