Toddler injured in hit-and-run

Lwandle police are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving after a two-year-old child was knocked down last week.

The incident occurred in Mbandezelo Street, Lwandle, last Friday (20 January).

According to Lwandle police the child was taken to hospital to receive medical attention.

“The driver sped away after the accident, but with the assistance of the community, he came to the police station to report the incident,” said Sergeant Mthokozisi Gama, spokesperson for Lwandle police.

The police are still busy with their investigation into the accident and the suspect will be brought in to assist with the probe.
