Residents of Villiersdorp and surrounding area can look forward to receiving health care services in the newly constructed Villiersdorp Clinic that was built at a cost of over R20 million.
Health care services at the new facility at 1 Main Road, Villiersdorp will be offered from Monday 30 January.Roché Butler, spokesperson for the Western Cape Health Department in the Overberg, says patients can look forward to shorter waiting times.“We know your time is valuable, this is why the clinic will be working according to an appointment system to decrease your waiting time. If you have an appointment, you only need to come to the clinic a half an hour before your appointment. To make an appointment call us on 028 840 1460 or come to the clinic.”
Butler gave the assurance that staff will also continue helping people without appointments, but points out that these people without appointments may have to wait longer to be helped as they will be triaged on arrival and will be seen according to the urgency of their illness.
Other measures implemented to ensure shorter waiting times include three dedicated windows at the reception for files to be drawn quicker. Services will be colour coded to ensure patients receive the correct service as quickly as possible. “Now that construction work has been completed,” said Butler, “all patient information and operational equipment needs to be moved to the new building. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time and look forward to welcoming you into the new building.”
