ON Friday, November 12, Jbay Animal Rescue Sanctuary was alerted by concerned neighbours to an alleged incident of animal cruelty that took place in Wavecrest, Jeffreys Bay.

Neighbours became concerned when they heard a gunshot within the residential area and thought that something had happened to one of the residents in the area. Police were immediately called to the scene.

An eyewitness, however, saw two women allegedly drag a stray dog into their home from across the street before hearing the dog yelp and a gunshot a few minutes later.
