Another young person in the Eastern Cape has allegedly been kidnapped early this morning.
According to various reports the 24-year-old Hilton Wicks from Nqanqarhu (Maclear) in the Eastern Cape was allegedly abducted near his home today, March 24.
Wicks is the son of a prominent Eastern Cape businessman from Maclear. He was also the head boy of Kingswood College in Makhanda in 2016.
Eastern Cape Hawks spokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, confirmed the kidnapping to the Express.
"We are investigating the case," she confirmed.
When asked about the rumour of ransom demands that have been made for the release of the victim, she said: "For the benefit of the victim and the family, we cannot divulge that information. We are lying low. But we are involved in the investigation," she said.
This comes just after a young biokineticist from Gqeberha, Riana Pretorius (26) was safely returned to her family during the early hours of this morning. She was kidnapped outside her work in Newton Park on March 16 and a ransom demand of R2 million was made shortly after her kidnapping.
