On the one hand, Richard Khumalo from Eskom, categorically states that it has to get rid, especially so of 1 786 (65.6%) white engineers and 257 white tradesmen, to adhere to the “official instruction” that it received from the Director General of Labour, Thobile Lamont on the 03rd December 2014, to blindfolded adjust its manpower component to national demographics.
At the end of January 2015 Eskom had 4 487 white employees in these critical important positions to sustain the supply of power to its national grid, yet now it has to ‘get rid’ of them, to abide to national demographics! Where is it going to find replacements within and amongst the national demographics to replace these employees overnight?
On the very same day, the Deputy President in Parliament categorically states that the race is on to appoint as many as possible employees, especially engineers and tradesmen, whom have the necessary qualification, capacity, capability and experience to these critical positions in Eskom, DESPITE their skin colour.
Engineers and tradesmen are the two most critical employment levels within Eskom which contributes to it being able to supply electricity to its national grid that is running at the moment at disastrous levels of demand exceeding supply, but them once again, “skin colour” “wins” in favour of being able to perform on your mandate, all at the cost of consumers that have to face “load-shedding” and the economy suffering as a consequence.
The question is who do we now believe?
Does the statement of the Deputy President be considered as relevant to the situation or is the representative of Eskom, Richard Khumalo, the man that “beats the drum” all in contradiction to what the Deputy President has to say about the situation?
More and more contradictions, with both Deputy President (in relation to Eskom) and the President Jacob Zuma (in relation to what caused the death of the Minister Collins Chabane) now becoming a norm rather than exception and all of this being evidentiary of how the citizens of this country is being misled and manipulated to think that the ruling government actually knows what it is doing!
