The day I met Nelson Mandela

There is just something that inspired me to write this email and for what ever reason it is I know there could only be good coming from it.

THE DAY I MET NELSON MANDELA

It was for my 46th birthday and my wife Sharon took me out for dinner at Erinvale Resturant as she heard that NELSON MANDELA was staying at the Erinval Hotel, when he just walked in and asked who would like to greet him.

It was dead silence every one just stayed sitting and I off cause stood up and shook his hand as I recognised him immediately and had a feeling I would see him.

What an adrenalin rush that was I will never forget that, for the rest of my life.

It felt as if I was shaking the hand of a saint and you know what that is exactly what it was. The hair on my arms just stood up and I got goose flesh just seeing him there.

Then a year and 9 months later on the 4th October, 1997 I went to see Michael Jackson and only to be seated in front of the presidential suit were Nelson Mandela,Graca Machel and her child was sitting.

There was a glass division separating us and  I kept turning around looking at them as I was intrigued by the presence of PRESIDENT NELSON MANDELA.

When suddenly I was flanked on either side by plain clothed security men who said I should move quietly from the stand were I was standing. So they ushered me away and said that the Present Nelson Mandela recognised me and they wanted to know from were.

Once I explained to them that I met him a year and nine months ago at Erinvale Resturant when he walked in to the Restaurant to greet every one they then let me go.

I often thought about this if he really recognised me,but I was convinced that he did as I was left a lone with out even been searched at all or question any further.

If one reads is message in the visitors book which I have attached a copy below.

His quote in the visitors book was and I quote

"It has been a privilege to receive the attention of excellent professionals"

And that was from the President of South Africa that should tell you what kind of person we have just lost. He always praised every and anyone before himself.

R.I.P. MADIBA

If any one else has a story to share lets share it.

Let's all try to pass this story on to as many people as possible so we can get to share the story through out the world and hopefully receive various other stories about MADIBA. Which could multiply this message a thousand times more.

Further more if every one at the end feed one or two under privilege children or a homeless person, or car gaurd or street child etc. for Christmas then you would of made MADIBA a very happy person as that was his life to always do a good thing every day he lived.

Let's make a difference and

Continue the Madiba Magic
