National forum needed to address botched circumcisions

Good day Mpumelelo

Thank you so much for the refreshing and exactly spot on article.

What you have written repeats the questions many South Africans have been asking for years.

As both a human being as well as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who has had to deal with the terrible end results of both road carnage and the appalling continued murder and mutilation resulting from the totally outdated circumcision ritual, I have, possibly, a more in-depth view than the average citizen.

My question to you though is what exactly do you propose other than "there must be a concerted national effort..."

Who is to instigate this effort?

Surely not the grossly incompetent and ineffective government?

We need a national forum for discussion and action on these matters.

I don't have the answers but your call is critical.

I look forward to your response.
