The story: South Africans can now pay for private medical screenings - antibody tests - to detect whether they have been exposed to the coronavirus.

What we know: News24 can disclose this exclusively, after the personal experience of a member of the News24 team - who experienced the test first-hand - and first - at Lancet Laboratories.

The context: Antibody tests have been urgently awaited, since the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) announced in March that the tests would be "expedited" as key armaments in the fight against Covid-19.
