On Wednesday evening, the national commissioner of correctional services, Arthur Fraser, admitted that the Medical Parole Advisory Board did not approve medical parole for former president Jacob Zuma.
Fraser is believed to be a long-time ally of Zuma, allegedly giving the former president's legal team secret recordings in 2009 that helped to have prosecutions against him dismissed.
Under Fraser's watch at the State Security Agency (SSA), the agency was also allegedly used for factional battles within the ANC.
