President Cyril Ramaphosa may try to persuade his supporters that the Phala Phala report is flawed, or that he was never present when the incident took place, in a bid to remain in power, political analysts said.
Ramaphosa has been mired in a credibility crisis since the country's former spy boss, Arthur Fraser, opened a criminal case against him in June with regard to the theft of millions of rands at his Phala Phala game farm in early 2020.
A scathing section 89 report released last week, by an independent panel headed by former chief justice Sandile Ngcobo, found that Ramaphosa might have violated the Constitution and anti-corruption laws.
