The North West ANC held a chaotic elective conference at the weekend, with the provincial MEC for Human Settlements, Nono Maloyi, emerging victorious as the chairperson.

The conference, which had been threatened with an interdict, was also unable to conclude its programme, and will now complete certain processes at a later date.

The conference was further delayed by "thugs" stealing accreditation tags and trying to infiltrate the conference illegally.
