Advocate Dali Mpofu, representing former SA Revenue Service commissioner Tom Moyane, stunned those at the state capture commission on Tuesday evening when he told Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan and his lawyer, advocate Michelle le Roux to "shut up".

The commission, chaired by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, ran late into the evening on Tuesday to conclude Mpofu's cross-examination of Gordhan.

Near the end of the session, while wrapping up cross-examination regarding Moyane's allegation of racism against Gordhan, Le Roux asked Gordhan how it felt to be called racist by Moyane and his legal team. Gordhan had joined the proceedings digitally.
