A state of disaster should have been declared a long time ago to deal with the Eskom and load shedding crisis, writes Ebrahim Harvey.
While the decision early this week by the top leadership of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) to consider declaring the Eskom electricity crisis a state of disaster is important, and in some respects crucial, the burning question remains: will this turn of events resolve it?
It is a foregone conclusion that the ANC’s lekgotla over the past two days, dedicated to the Eskom crisis, will confirm that decision.
