She needs to hit the ground running if she is to turn the situation in several municipalities around, especially the metropolitan ones, ahead of the all-important 2024 general elections.
While the general elections have nothing to do with local government, it is at that level of government where the majority of people feel let down, neglected and abandoned. People couldn't be bothered if the road is local, provincial or national. All they want is a tarred road without potholes and functioning traffic lights where applicable.
