With the current narrative focused on the view that all politicians are corrupt, lazy and self-serving, Melanie Verwoerd reflects on a group of politicians who are trying to make a difference.

One of the most prevalent narratives at the moment is that all politicians are corrupt, lazy and self-serving. Rarely do I write a column without someone lashing out at the governing party and politicians in general in the comment sections.

Of course, there are a lot of reasons to be disappointed, angry and frustrated with our politicians, and I also often despair.
