In the fight to dominate the ANC, it was not about wrong or right. It was about who is worse than the other. It was also about the risk of the losers facing annihilation in the aftermath of the battle, writes Mpumelelo Mkhabela.

In the end, it was an outcome of a competition for dominance by mainly four ANC groups that we can best identify by their respective scandals, not ideas.
