Mpumelelo Mkhabela | From Nkandla to Phala Phala - for how long will MPs be robots of the ANC?

There can be no dignity ascribed to an individual who isn't allowed to think for themselves and vote with their conscience intact, writes Mpumelelo Mkhabela about the ANC’s decree to have its MPs stop acting on their individual thoughts on Phala Phala.

Newzroom Afrika, the television news channel, this week tweeted that President Cyril Ramaphosa was planning to "lobby" the Constitutional Court to review the Phala Phala report.  

Some legally literate people on Twitter correctly criticised the news channel for its cavalier suggestion that the 11 justices of the Constitutional Court could be "lobbied" by a rich politician who counts in dollars.
