Ivor Sarakinsky writes that because Zweli Mkhize allegedly and unprocedurally signed the Digital Vibes contract aggravates an already dire situation and places President Cyril Ramaphosa in a difficult situation.

One of the significant challenges around the globe facing a head of state is finding the right people for Executive office and Cabinet membership. Politicians tend not to be technical experts but have skills in other areas that make them useful.

Dr Zweli Mkhize, a medical practitioner and seasoned politician, seemed like the perfect fit for the Health portfolio, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. As the saying goes, "sometimes things are too good to be true".
