President Cyril Ramaphosa, who maintains that he did nothing wrong, has sought legal advice on a possible challenge to Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo's report on the Phala Phala break in but has been advised not to review it, writes Karyn Maughan.
Amid calls for and against his resignation, President Cyril Ramaphosa sought legal advice on whether he could challenge the Section 89 panel report that disbelieved his account of the Phala Phala break in – but was advised not to.
News24 has learnt he received counsel that the report's preliminary conclusions of serious "prima facie" wrongdoing and misconduct against him, in relation to the February 2020 burglary at his Phala Phala farm and his apparent failure to report it to police, would be extremely difficult to review.
