Despite all the evidence that has been revealed at the state capture commission indicating the State Security was politicised, President Cyril Ramaphosa has not taken any action against those implicated. Karyn Maughan asks why.

The past months have been awash with evidence that the State Security Agency was used as a political weapon against then president Jacob Zuma's adversaries - but, as yet, President Cyril Ramaphosa has taken no action against the most seriously implicated spies.

Ramaphosa's paralysis in response to the serious allegations levelled against former SSA Director-General Arthur Fraser, including that he had tried to shut down an investigation by Inspector-General of Intelligence Dr Setlhomamaru Dintwe into serious evidence of wrongdoing against him, has been a long-running phenomenon.
