News24's James de Villiers spoke to University of Witwatersrand's Media Studies associate professor, Glenda Daniels, about what went wrong with the Tembisa 10 story, and its impact on journalism.

Last week, the Pretoria News daily newspaper reported that a world record was broken when Gosiame Sithole gave birth to 10 babies in Tembisa.

However, shortly after the story broke, the government said it couldn't verify the birth, and stated that no hospital in Gauteng had reported the birth of 10 babies.
