Through its new energy plan, the government believes South Africa will be a world leader in green energy generation.
Endorsing the measures outlined as part of President Cyril Ramaphosa's bolstered energy plan for the country, Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele said South Africa was well on its way towards being a pioneer in green energy generation.
"SA is destined to be the Saudi Arabia of the future when it comes to green generation economy because we are moving away from fossils and all these things. SA is one of the top five sunniest countries in the world. In Kimberley, we are building a huge special economic zone, where green energy will be produced.
