The South African government repeatedly ignored United States intelligence that it had supplied weapons and ammunition to Russia and now risks losing billions of rand of investments and thousands of jobs.
On Thursday, US ambassador to SA, Reuben Brigety, laid bare the impasse in diplomatic talks between the two countries, revealing that the US had information that SA supplied ammunition to Russia.
South Africa now risks being expelled from the African Growth and Opportunity Act (Agoa) which accounted for R400 billion of trade between the two countries last year.
