The DA says Deputy Justice Minister John Jeffery's remark that the ANC has political objectives it wishes to achieve with the Hate Crimes and Hate Speech Bill, proves their fears about the controversial legislation.

This is after Jeffery said Afrikaners are mostly likely to perpetrate hate crimes.

The Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services was processing the bill on Tuesday.
