DA quoted John Jeffery 'out of context' on hate speech, Afrikaners, says justice ministry

Deputy Justice Minister John Jeffery countered the DA's condemnation of his remarks about Afrikaners and hate speech by stating it "opportunistically and deliberately" took his words out of context.

This row between Jeffery and the DA started this week as the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services worked on the Prevention and Combating of Hate Crimes and Hate Speech Bill.

The DA and FF Plus are opposed to the bill.
