A director-general of a national government department has been sitting at home for four months on full pay after butting heads with a minister. He is waiting for the president to send him to another department. 

Another has gone to the Labour Court on an urgent basis, claiming the minister who suspended him acted with malice. 

This is part of a crisis in government where, by June 2022, 10 of 45 national government departments had acting directors-general, Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele revealed.
