Power utility Eskom needs time, skill and an estimated R1.2 trillion investment in the electricity industry over the next 10 years.
On Tuesday, outgoing Eskom chief executive officer André de Ruyter and members of the board presented their plan to fix the country's energy crisis to the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa).
"We anticipate that we will be able to return 1 862MW to the grid by the end of March this year. That is more or less equivalent to two stages of load shedding," De Ruyter told Scopa.
