Taking a leaf out of the Zondo report, the EFF argues in court papers that Parliament can hold President Cyril Ramaphosa accountable over Phala Phala while other authorities are still investigating.
This is contained in an application to the Constitutional Court to set aside the National Assembly's decision not to institute impeachment proceedings against Ramaphosa.
The EFF is asking the apex court for direct access to hear its urgent application for reviewing and setting aside, and declaring as unconstitutional and invalid, National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula's decision to call for a vote on the adoption or rejection of an independent panel report and her decision that this vote should be by secret ballot.
