In the absence of several investigative reports into the Phala Phala matter, it is highly unlikely that the parliamentary panel probing the matter will find any prima facie evidence against President Cyril Ramaphosa.
"I think there is a very good reason why the [National Assembly] Speaker [Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula] refused the ad-hoc committee.
"She did not want a full and thorough investigation into this matter, particularly in the year of an ANC elective conference. Because it reflects on her sponsor, President Ramaphosa," said DA leader John Steenhuisen.
