Bantu Holomisa's United Democratic Movement (UDM) is on a recruitment drive in order to shake-up South Africa's political scene in the 2024 general election.

The UDM is calling on women, young people and graduates - of all demographics - to join the party as potential candidates to represent it in Parliament and the nine provincial legislatures.

Earlier this week, the UDM's national executive committee (NEC) met to deliberate on the prolonged one-party state majority, which has "led South Africa down the slippery slope of a failed democracy".
