The DA's cadre deployment fight with the ANC is not to prevent high-ranking state employees from being members of the party, it's merely to chop down the thought the ruling party can have an influence on who gets top government jobs.
Lawyers for the DA and ANC squared off in the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Monday, where the DA wants the court to declare the ANC's cadre deployment policy unconstitutional.
Arguing for the DA, advocate Anton Katz SC said cadre deployment had blurred the lines between party and state.
