The ANC's national executive committee (NEC) meeting, which decided not to support the adoption of a report that could lead to President Cyril Ramaphosa facing an impeachment committee, was run "mafia-style", where leaders were "bullied" into shutting up.
This is according to ANC presidential contender Zweli Mkhize, who accused ANC national chairperson Gwede Mantashe and Ramaphosa's allies in the NEC of bullying members not supporting a view for the party to protect Ramaphosa in Parliament.
During an interview with News24, Mkhize said Mantashe, who was chairing the NEC meeting on Monday, barred dissenting views to be expressed by cutting the meeting short.
