Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe has likened Eskom CEO André de Ruyter to a "policeman" who is focused on "chasing criminals, " without a grasp of the power utility's challenges.
Mantashe has dug in his heels, saying De Ruyter must be replaced with someone who has the technical capacity to turn Eskom around.
In an interview with News24, the minister said he believed De Ruyter should be replaced with a person who had better technical capabilities.
